Dear Readers,
I once had a guidance counselor who told me that every time I was stressed, it took five minutes off my life. I did not appreciate this guidance. (Nor did it make me relax.) I prefer a more optimistic math: Every daffodil or crocus I spy pushing through the snow gives me those minutes back.
Scientists may not endorse my accounting system, but they do agree that time spent in green spaces improves physical and mental health. I stand by my faith in the heart-lifting joy of a budding flower.
