Dear Reader,
As you all know, Dot loves to hear what you’re thinking about, working on, and curious about. So I was delighted when frequent sharer Debbie recently sent me the link to this story about Tranquil Garden in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, where people are invited to take what they need and donate what they can. What a lovely economy!
But that’s not all I have for you on this Feel-Good Friday. Although we’re officially into September, I loved the summer game this Ann Arbor, Michigan library offered to locals. It’s called The Summer Game, and, according to this NPR story, “Users earn points by solving puzzles, learning about local history and exploring neighborhoods. Points can be redeemed in the library shop for T-shirts, umbrellas and other merchandise, such as a very popular stuffed plushie animal that's updated every year. (The 2025 animal is a small flamingo.)” With 16,000 people involved, Ann Arbor’s program seems like a standout, but, the article notes, there are other library programs throughout the country, including in Ohio and Maryland, that are cleverly and successfully pulling people in. What’s so green about libraries? Reduce, reuse, and recycle, my friends. One book, many readers; one space, many users.
Next up is a sneaky sneaker-snatching fox in Grand Teton National Park. The National Park News reported that “The fox stole a surprising 19 shoes in recent weeks, so National Park Service crews put up signs in the Wyoming park warning campers to keep their footwear in a safe space, like tents, vehicles, or bear boxes. That didn’t do the trick though. Since then, the cunning fox has taken a whopping 32 shoes!” Of course, humans behaved like humans and tried leaving shoes where the thief might take them, hoping to catch a glimpse of the fox with the footwear fetish. This prompted another warning that anything that encourages wildlife to let down its guard around people is dangerous. Wildlife, they said, needs to be … wild.
The Imelda Marcos of Grand Teton seems to be taking the park officials’ advice, going underground and, perhaps, discreetly trying on its new selection of footwear.
Sneakily,
Dot

Why LeafGuard Outperforms Every Other Gutter System
|
 |
Generic gutter guards are add-on solutions that treat the symptom, not the problem. LeafGuard addresses it at the source by completely replacing your gutter system with a proprietary design that makes clogs physically impossible.
The seamless construction eliminates joints where leaks typically develop. The curved hood uses the principle of liquid adhesion to guide water in while deflecting everything else. Even small debris like seeds and pine needles that slip through mesh guards can't enter LeafGuard's system. The result is a maintenance-free solution that actually works.
Bluedot Living readers save with 75% off installation plus $200 off. This isn't just about convenience—it's about investing in a system that's built to last and performs as promised. |
