Dear Reader,
It is Pride Month, and, on this Feel-Good Friday, Dot wants to celebrate those in the queer community focused on climate issues, such as Queers 4 Climate Justice (and share my deep love for Youngest Dot, a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community).Β
Queers for Climate Justice is βa small and scrappy grassroots collective that uplifts LGBTQ+ brilliance throughout the climate justice movement and creates intentional spaces for climate justice organizing within LGBTQ+ movement convenings,β they tell us. Most recently, they are behind a documentary called Canβt Stop Change: Queer Climate Stories from the Florida Frontlines.Β
βUntil very recently, LGBTQ+ communities have been largely invisible in the climate and environmental movements, despite the fact that LGBTQ+ people are part of every group already known to be disproportionately impacted by environmental harm and vulnerable to climate disasters,β the collective says.Β
Brava to Queers 4 Climate Justice β and a hearty Feel-Good Friday hug for all you do to make our world better.
