The words of Anand Giridharadas, a journalist and political pundit, remind Dot of Paul Hawken’s choice to see this moment in history as a chance “to re-imagine every single thing we do … this generation gets to essentially completely change the world.”
Neither Giridharadas nor Hawken soft-peddle the challenge of this moment. They are acutely aware of both the stakes and the narrowing window of opportunity we have to address our climate crisis to avoid the most dire consequences. But within our current chaos they see opportunity — a chance to create a more just, a cleaner, a healthier world. I don’t know of anyone right now who isn’t feeling some anxiety about our future.
