Dear Readers,
This week, I’m back with more great brands for face, body, and hair — as well as discount codes for six of them (look for the asterisks). As I write, I’ve already got one foot out the door, as I’ll be headed to Nova Scotia shortly, along with my husband and our dog. (We may even be watching whales as you read this.) I’ve resolved to travel light, including when it comes to toiletries. |

Here’s some of what I’ll pack in my ditty bag: |

As I was finalizing our plans, I decided to calculate the trip’s estimated carbon footprint. A little googling informed me that our travel would generate about 0.7 tons of carbon. Guilt crept up on me, so I revisited “Dear Dot: Are Carbon Offsets a Flight of Fancy?”. While Dot points out that it’s better not to generate carbon in the first place, well-executed offsets can have a positive impact, both for underserved communities and the planet.
I took Dot’s advice and visited Gold Standard, then purchased one ton of offsets each for programs that support clean water collection in Uganda and healthy cookstoves in Mexico, for a total of $55. The offsets don’t eliminate the carbon my flights are generating, but they do make me feel a little better … and they do some good, too.
Are you traveling anywhere this summer? What are your must-have toiletries? Let me know at marketplace@bluedotliving.com. Thanks, and happy shopping!

How Hard Is Your Hair Working? |
