Dear Reader,
There has been much hot air expelled blaming wind turbines for the deaths of birds. And yet, buildings — skyscrapers and lowly bungalows — are much more dangerous to avians. (Only cats are more homicidal than buildings.)
Brian Anderson often took care of those birds injured in his city of Toronto. A dedicated member of FLAP (Fatal Light Awareness Program) Canada, Brian recently died in a cycling accident but has left a legacy of thousands of rescued injured birds.
So today Dot celebrates Brian — and the many like him — who work tirelessly to help these creatures harmed by mankind’s monoliths.
