Dear Readers,
The holidays are right around the corner, and Iβm one of those people who loves this time of year. New York City sparkles, my dog struts around in his cutest sweaters, and last night I even managed to find gratitude for a pile of junk mail. It contained a letter from Sesame Workshop, and Iβll be sending them a donation in my two-year-old nieceβs name. Now I can tick Kaylee off my list, but Iβve still got gifts to buy, and Iβll bet you do too. Iβm here to help.

Holiday shopping can be chaotic. We can make it easier.

As the marketplace editor of a sustainable living magazine, it's my job to guide readers to choices that you (and I) can feel good about: ones that will delight your friends and family and were made with minimal impact on the Earth and its inhabitants.
This holiday season, and every season, I aim to gift thoughtfully by purchasing items that will delight my loved ones and be of use to them β even if that use is simply to sit on a shelf and be admired. I prioritize goods that are plastic-free, American-made, Fair Trade certified, vintage, and more. Top of mind is Bluedotβs pledge: Buy less, but when you do buy β buy better.
One potential hangup is that buying better can, at least in the short term, cost more. Paying workers fairly to produce long-lasting goods isnβt cheap. Thatβs why Black Friday and Cyber Monday, love them or hate them, can be so useful.
Some sales have begun already and others will continue after Cyber Monday, but the best take place from Friday, Nov. 29 through Monday, Dec. 2. Iβve sorted through hundreds of webpages and PR emails and written to the folks at dozens of my favorite companies to get you the information Iβm sharing now: a big olβ list of deals.
To see the full list of sales from sustainable brands, click here. Iβll continue to update the page as the week continues. For a few highlights, keep reading.
If you want more inspiration, click through to a list of our Holiday Gift Guides. And if youβre still flummoxed, feel free to write me at elizabeth@bluedotliving.com, describing your hard-to-shop-for giftee. Nothing would delight me more than to be your gifting concierge. Truly.
Happy Thanksgiving, readers, and happy shopping. Iβm grateful for you.
